Elder Financial Protection Network (EFPN) presents the 1st annual 'Fine Wines for Old Vines' silent online auction event!

On October 31, 2008, Elder Financial Protection Network will launch a very special online silent auction. The theme of the event is…‘Fine Wines for Old Vines’ Auction to benefit Elder Financial Abuse Prevention Program” Elder Financial Protection Network (EFPN) is pleased to announce a very special benefit wine auction to be held online from October 31 through November 9. The theme: "Fine Wines for Old Vines" will honor our nations elder citizens. EFPN, a non-profit organization, will designate the proceeds to community education programs that prevent financial abuse and exploitation of older adults and raising awareness of this growing problem.  

“Sadly, it is estimated that 5 million American elders are victims of neglect, abuse or financial exploitation by persons they trust.” said Jenefer Duane, Founder & CEO, Elder Financial Protection Network, “It is our hope that Fine Wines For Old Vines will increase awareness of the many positive aspects of our aging community members and raise much-needed funds for our programs that stop the abuse and financial exploitation of our cherished elder citizens”   

EFPN has created several model training and public awareness programs that have brought hundreds of banks, credit unions and community partners, including law enforcement and adult social service agencies together in the fight against the growing crime of elder financial abuse. EFPN has raised more than $2 million to fund professional training initiatives, five conferences and community workshops for more than 20,000 elders. EFPN’s press outreach has generated 58 million media impressions to raise community awareness of this growing crime.
